Taiwan FDA is establishing a track and trace system for drugs. Identification is mandated on secondary and tertiary packaging and is following GS1 std (EGS): Product / batch coding developing to Product Item serialization (multiple pack levels; aggregation implicit) and data reporting.

Proposed dates, but currently not enforced.

2018: 3-element 2D codes (AI 01, 17, 10) for both secondary and tertiary packaging
2019: add serial component to 2D (not enforced)
2020: above + traceability platform login (not enforced)
2021: above + API serial number (not enforced)
